How we write our riddles

Fun Riddles for Kids is made by Rai Ansar and published by Acefina LLC. The aim is simple: riddles a child can actually solve, with help that comes one step at a time.

Written fresh, then checked

Every riddle is checked against a written checklist before it goes on the site:

• One fair answer. If a smart kid could give a different answer that also fits, we rewrite the clues or list that answer too.
• True facts. Animal, science and number clues have to be correct, and math answers show their working.
• Kid-safe. No scary, rude or grown-up content. Halloween riddles stay fun-spooky.
• Two hints that climb, from a gentle nudge to almost there.
• A one-line reason it works, so kids learn the trick and can make their own.

We do not copy riddles from other websites or books. Traditional riddles that have been told for generations are retold in our own words.

What the labels mean

• Ages 4 to 6: short riddles about everyday things, best read aloud by a grown-up.
• Ages 7 to 9: simple wordplay and light logic for new readers.
• Ages 10 to 12: double meanings, lateral thinking and number puzzles.
• Easy, medium, hard: how tricky the riddle is within its age group.

Spotted a problem?

If a riddle has two good answers, a wrong fact or wording that does not work where you live, grown-ups can email support@acefina.com. We read every message and fix the riddle.

Printing

You are welcome to print any riddle set for home or classroom use. Each set prints as cards with the answers on a separate key or folded under each card.
